Buildstart
Buildstart is designed to assist non-first home buyers that enter into a contract between 27 October 2008 and 31 December 2009 to purchase a new house or unit, or build a new house, by providing a $14 000 grant. Owner-builders who commence construction of a house during this period and investors, including companies and trusts, are also eligible for the grant.
Buildstart is limited to purchases up to $1 million (includes land component) or $700 000 for the construction of a new house. There is no limit on the number of grants that a person may receive, but only one grant is payable in relation to the same property.
